This policy explains what the Nanitch mobile app ("Nanitch," "we," "us") collects, why, and your choices. Nanitch is operated by Jason Page, Salem, Oregon, USA. Questions? Email hello@nanitch.com.
The short version
We collect the minimum needed to run a safe community app. We do not sell your personal data, and we never share where you've been. You can delete your account and all your data from inside the app at any time.
What we collect
Account information
- Email address and password — to create and secure your account.
- Date of birth — to confirm you are 18 or older. Stored privately; never shown to other users.
- Display name and optional profile details — shown to other members.
Content you create
- Spots you add, spot confirmations, ratings, event RSVPs, saved/private pins, and reports you file.
Location
- With your permission, your device's approximate location is used to show spots near you and to place a pin when you add one. We do not store a history of your movements. Private pins you save are visible only to you.
Technical & notifications
- Basic device and log data needed to operate and secure the service, and — if you opt in — a push notification token.
How we use it
- To provide the map, events, and community features.
- To keep the community safe: age-gating, moderation, and handling reports.
- To communicate with you about your account and (if opted in) relevant activity.
Who we share it with
We share personal data only with service providers that help us run the app, under contract and only for that purpose:
- Supabase — our database, authentication, and storage provider (hosting your account and content).
- Apple Push Notification service — to deliver notifications you opt into.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not sell or share your location.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account — in the app, go to Me → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and associated data.
- Location — you can grant or revoke location access in your device settings.
- Notifications — manage in your device settings.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access or correct your data — contact us at hello@nanitch.com.
Data retention
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your associated personal data, except where we must retain limited records to comply with law or resolve disputes.
Age requirement
Nanitch is strictly for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn an account belongs to a minor, we remove it.
Security
We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, access controls, row-level security) to protect your data. No method is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Changes
We may update this policy; we'll change the date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
