Progressive Rummy is the rising-contract card game that's lived around kitchen tables for generations. Each of the seven rounds asks for more — two groups of three, then a group and a run, all the way to three runs of four. Draw, build your melds, lay them down, and race to shed every card. Lowest score after seven rounds wins.

Buy the pile

When another player is about to draw, jump in and buy the top discard — it comes with two hidden cards off the deck. A gamble that can complete your hand or load it with deadwood. Two buys per round.
